("we", "us", or "our") built the Coffee Timer: Brew Perfect application (the "App") as a free, offline application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
1. INTRODUCTION
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Coffee Timer: Brew Perfect is designed as a fully offline application that does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. This Privacy Policy provides transparency about our data practices.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 Data Collected Automatically:
• NONE. The App does not contain any analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or any third-party services that collect data automatically.
2.2 Data Stored Locally (NOT Transmitted):
The following data is stored ONLY on your device using local databases and never leaves your device:
• Brew History: Method used, coffee weight, water volume, ratio, brew duration, date/time, and personal rating.
• Favorite Recipes: Saved brew configurations including method, coffee weight, water volume, and ratio.
• User Preferences: Theme preference (dark/light mode), measurement system (metric/imperial), and notification toggle state.
2.3 Data NOT Collected:
• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics
• Advertising identifiers
• Photos, camera, or microphone data
• Contacts or calendar data
• Browsing history
• Financial or payment information
3. PERMISSIONS USED
The App requires ZERO Android permissions. Specifically:
• No Internet permission — the App works 100% offline
• No Camera permission
• No Location permission
• No Storage permission (uses internal app-specific storage only)
• No Contacts, Calendar, Phone, or SMS permissions
• No Microphone permission
• No Notification permission
The App uses only FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON (a window flag, NOT a permission) to prevent the screen from turning off during active brew timer sessions. This does not collect or transmit any data.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App does NOT integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect user data. Specifically:
• No Google AdMob or any advertising SDK
• No Firebase Analytics or any analytics SDK
• No Crashlytics or any crash reporting SDK
• No social media SDKs
• No payment processing SDKs
The only third-party dependencies are:
• AndroidX Jetpack libraries (UI framework — no data collection)
• Room Database (local database — no data transmission)
• DataStore Preferences (local settings — no data transmission)
All of these are open-source Android platform libraries that operate entirely on-device.
5. DATA RETENTION
• Local Data: Brew history, favorites, and preferences persist on your device until you uninstall the App or manually clear the App's data through your device settings.
• Cloud Data: NONE. No data is stored on any external server.
6. DATA SHARING
We do NOT share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. There is no data to share, sell, rent, or disclose.
7. USER RIGHTS & CONTROL
You have full control over all data stored by the App:
• Delete Brew History: Swipe to delete individual brew records within the App.
• Delete Favorites: Remove saved recipes within the App.
• Reset All Data: Go to your device Settings → Apps → Coffee Timer: Brew Perfect → Storage → Clear Data to remove all locally stored information.
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the App permanently removes all associated data from your device.
Since we do not collect any data, there is no need for data access requests, data portability, or opt-out mechanisms for personalized advertising.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Coffee Timer: Brew Perfect is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App collects no personal data from any user, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.
9. ACCOUNT DELETION
The App does not require or support user account creation. There are no accounts to delete. All data is stored locally on-device and can be removed by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.
10. SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to ensure data integrity:
• All data is stored locally on your device using Android's built-in security mechanisms.
• No data is transmitted over any network, eliminating the risk of data interception.
• The App uses Android's internal app-specific storage, which is sandboxed and inaccessible to other applications.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
